Note, we are truly what we are with God. Those are happy, truly happy, and happy forever, who obtain the Lord’s favor, even if the world frowns on them and people show them little kindness. In God’s favor is life, and it is the source of all good. On the other hand, those whom God condemns are miserable, no matter how much people praise them. When he condemns them, he condemns them to the second death.
We also stand with God according to how we live with other people in this world. Our Father judges his children very much by how they treat one another. So a good person, one who is merciful, generous, and does good, draws favor from the Lord by his prayers. But a malicious person, who plans evil against his neighbors, God will condemn as unfit for a place in his kingdom.
