It is granted that strong men can hold on to wealth. Those who are active in the world, people of strength and influence, and who can stand up to those who oppose them, are likely to keep what they have and gain more. By contrast, the weak are often taken advantage of by everyone around them.
In the same way, a gracious woman cares deeply about protecting her good name. She works to keep a reputation for wisdom, modesty, humility, courtesy, and the other qualities that truly adorn a woman. Such women secure their honor through wise behavior and good conduct, just as strong men protect their estates. A gracious woman is as honorable as a brave man, and her honor is just as secure.
