This verse is a warning to all young men against sexual sin and impurity. If they care about their souls, they must keep away from strange women, that is, women who are immoral and should be treated as strangers. They must also avoid the words, kisses, and charms of such women, along with every lure that draws them in (Proverbs 7:13).
They should fear them and have nothing to do with them. Those who give themselves over to this sin show that God has left them to themselves. It is a deep pit. When the Lord hates a person, he may let that person fall into temptation and remove his restraining grace as punishment for other sins.
So no one should think well of himself just because such women favor him. That kind of favor often means he is under God’s judgment. It is also very hard for such people to recover, because this is a deep pit. The sin clouds the mind and weakens the conscience by pleasing the body.
