Wise people keep seeking knowledge. They give their ear to learning and their heart to it as well. Their ear listens carefully to the means of learning, and their heart trusts what they hear and uses it well. A prudent person does not think he has enough wisdom already. The more wise a person is, the more eager he is to learn more, especially the knowledge of God, duty, and the way to heaven, since that is the best knowledge.
Those who wisely seek knowledge will surely find it, because God does not say to such people, “Seek in vain.” He says, “Seek, and you will find.” If the ear seeks it, the heart receives it, keeps it, and grows rich from it. We must get knowledge into our hearts, not only into our heads. We should taste its goodness, apply what we know to ourselves, and feel its power in our lives.
