About the Calvary Chapel Tradition

Calvary Chapel is a network of churches known for verse-by-verse Bible teaching, a casual and welcoming worship atmosphere, and a reliance on the Holy Spirit to guide ministry and personal growth. Born out of the Jesus Movement of the 1970s, Calvary Chapel congregations have a heart for reaching people who might not feel comfortable in a traditional church setting. The movement emphasizes God's grace, the simplicity of the Gospel, and the transforming power of studying Scripture together.
