Many will call themselves merciful and boast about the good they have done, the good they plan to do, or at least their love for doing good. Most people talk a great deal about their charity, generosity, hospitality, and piety. Like the Pharisees, they sound a trumpet for themselves, and they make a great show of any little goodness they have.
