A prayer for the persecuted church
Join in prayer for Christians who face threats, rejection, or imprisonment because of their faith. This prayer asks God for protection, strength, and comfort, while helping us remember those whose suffering may be far from our daily lives.
A prayer for the persecuted church
Heavenly Father, we bring before You our brothers and sisters who suffer because they follow Jesus. You know their names, their fears, and the burdens they carry. Help us remember them with love and pray for them with steady hearts. Please protect those facing violence, imprisonment, or threats. Be near to families who are separated and children who are afraid. Provide safe shelter and caring people who can help. Give those who feel alone a deep sense of Your presence. Strengthen Your people when their faith is tested. Give them wisdom about when to speak and when to seek safety. When they are tired or grieving, hold them close and help them receive support without shame. Turn the hearts of those who cause harm. Restrain cruelty and guide leaders toward justice and peace. Help Your church respond with courage, compassion, and care. Father, keep us from forgetting those who suffer. Show us faithful ways to help without placing anyone at greater risk. We entrust them to Your mercy and ask You to sustain their hope in Jesus. Amen

A word of encouragement
Hebrews 13:3 calls Christians to remember prisoners and those who are mistreated as people whose suffering matters deeply to us. Though we may live far apart, we belong to one family in Christ. Prayer helps us pay attention, resist indifference, and ask how we can offer wise support. God welcomes both our hope and our sorrow. If you are facing threats or carrying fear yourself, consider reaching out to a trusted pastor or another trustworthy person when it is safe to do so.
