A prayer for hard times: Finding Strength in God
When life feels heavy, finding words to pray can be hard. This prayer for hard times offers a place to bring your worries to God and ask for strength to take the next step.
A prayer for hard times: Finding Strength in God
Dear God, I come to You with a tired heart. You know the burdens I carry, including the ones I struggle to explain. Please meet me here and help me remember that I can turn to You with every fear. Some days I feel overwhelmed by what lies ahead. Give me enough strength for today. Help me face what needs my attention and release what I cannot control. When my thoughts race, settle my heart so I can listen for Your guidance. Please give me wisdom for the choices before me. Help me recognize the people who can offer support, and give me courage to ask for help. Teach me to receive kindness without shame and to notice small signs of Your care. I do not know how this season will unfold, but I place my hope in You. Hold me close when faith feels weak. Help me keep taking steady steps, with patience for myself and compassion for others. Thank You for hearing me, even when my prayer is only a few words. Amen

A word of encouragement
Psalm 46:1 points us toward God as our refuge and strength in trouble. That promise gives us a place to turn even when our circumstances remain difficult. You can bring God your questions, sadness, and uncertainty without pretending to feel strong. Jesus also welcomed those who were weary, reminding us that we can come to Him with our burdens. As you pray, consider reaching out to your pastor or a trusted person. Letting someone walk beside you can be a meaningful step of faith.

You can begin with something as simple as, “God, please help me.” Romans 8:26 offers encouragement that God understands our weakness when we struggle to pray.
