About the Church of Christ, Scientist Tradition

The Church of Christ, Scientist was founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879 and is centered on the healing power of prayer and the study of the Bible alongside the denomination's textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Services include readings from both books and testimonies of healing from congregation members. Christian Scientists are known for their Reading Rooms, which serve as quiet spaces for spiritual study and reflection open to the public.
