In this chapter, we see God’s great goodness to his people Israel, and the many great things he had done for them (Hosea 11:1, 3, 4). We also see their thankless behavior toward him, even though he had shown them such favor (Hosea 11:2-4, 7, 12). Along with that come warnings of judgment for their ingratitude and faithlessness (Hosea 11:5, 6).
Yet even in the middle of wrath, mercy is remembered (Hosea 11:8, 9). God also gives promises of what he would still do for them (Hosea 11:10, 11). The chapter ends with an honorable word about Judah (Hosea 11:12).
