See here the harm that comes from an angry, hot-tempered, and furious spirit. First, it makes people stir up trouble with one another. An angry person starts quarrels and makes life tense in the home and in the neighborhood. He fans the flames and even drives to conflict people who would otherwise live quietly and peacefully beside him.
Second, it makes people offend God. A furious person, tied to his moods and passions, is likely to commit many sins. Wrong anger is itself a sin, and it leads to many other sins. It not only keeps people from calling on God’s name, it also leads them to swear, curse, and dishonor God’s name.
