Note, 1. Many people do not know when they are well off. They are uneasy with the place and condition God, in his providence, has given them, though it is fit for them and made comfortable to them. They want change. They love to wander, are quick to find excuses to go out, and do not like staying in one place for long. They neglect their own work and duties, and they meddle in things that do not belong to them.
2. Those who leave the place God has given them are like a bird that wanders away from her nest. It shows their foolishness. They are like a simple bird that keeps moving from branch to branch and never rests. It is also unsafe. A wandering bird is exposed, and a man's proper place is his shelter; when he leaves it, he makes himself an easy target for the hunter. When the bird leaves the nest, the eggs and young birds are left without care. In the same way, those who like being away leave their work at home undone. So let every person stay in the calling in which he was called, and stay there with God.
