This chapter tells the story of Ahaz, the son of Jotham. He was a wicked king, and his reign only increased the Lord’s fierce anger. We see here his great sin (2 Chronicles 28:1-4), the trouble he brought on himself because of it (2 Chronicles 28:5-8), and the warning God sent through a prophet to the army of Israel for attacking their own brothers in Judah, along with the ready response they gave to that warning (2 Chronicles 28:9-15).
We also see the many troubles that came on Ahaz and his people (2 Chronicles 28:16-21). Even after all this, he kept on with his idolatry, his worship of false gods (2 Chronicles 28:22-25), and that is how his story ends (2 Chronicles 28:26-27).
