In the year of the jubile the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land
And all thy estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.
Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be the LORD'S firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is the LORD'S.
And if it be of an unclean beast, then he shall redeem it according to thine estimation, and shall add a fifth part of it thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to thy estimation.
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD.

1. We see here the great danger and distress that Jehoshaphat and his kingdom faced from a foreign attack (2 Chronicles 20:1, 2).
2. We also see the godly course he took for their safety. He called for fasting, prayer, and a humble seeking after God (2 Chronicles 20:3-13).
3. God quickly answered through a prophet and gave them assurance of victory (2 Chronicles 20:14-17).
4. The people then received those promises with thankful faith (2 Chronicles 20:18-21).
5. After that, God brought about the defeat of their enemies (2 Chronicles 20:22-25).
6. A solemn time of thanksgiving followed, for the victory itself and for the good results that came from it (2 Chronicles 20:26-30).
7. The chapter ends with the close of Jehoshaphat’s reign, and it was not without some faults (2 Chronicles 20:31-37).
