In this chapter, the apostle gives directions about a collection to be made in this church for the poor and troubled churches in Judea (1 Corinthians 16:1-4). He then speaks about his plan to visit them (1 Corinthians 16:5-9). After that, he recommends Timothy to them and tells them that Apollos planned to come as well (1 Corinthians 16:10-12).
He also urges them to stay alert, remain steady, and show love, and to respect all who had helped him and his fellow workers in their service (1 Corinthians 16:13-19). After greetings from others and from himself, he ends the letter with a serious warning and his prayers for their good, all the way to the end of the chapter (1 Corinthians 16:20-24).
