And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

In this chapter, we have Christ feeding four thousand people with seven loaves and a few small fish (Mark 8:1-9). We also see him refusing to give the Pharisees a sign from heaven (Mark 8:10-13). Then he warns his disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Herodians, that is, their corrupt teaching and influence (Mark 8:14-21).
Next, he gives sight to a blind man at Bethsaida, a town in Galilee, and shows his power to heal step by step (Mark 8:22-26). After that comes Peter’s confession that Jesus is the Christ, the promised Messiah (Mark 8:27-30). The chapter ends with Jesus telling his disciples that he must soon suffer, and warning them to be ready to suffer too if they would follow him (Mark 8:31-38).
