auto_stories Bible Guided Commentary

Here we see, first, how God lengthened Noah’s life. Noah lived 950 years, twenty more than Adam and only nineteen less than Methuselah. This long life was another reward for his special godliness, and it was also a great blessing to the world. No doubt he kept preaching righteousness, and now he had the special help of speaking to his own children.

We also see how God brought Noah’s life to an end at last. Even though he lived a very long time, he still died. He likely saw many of his descendants die before him. Noah lived through two worlds, but since he was an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith, when he died he went to a better world than either of them.
