And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:
And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God.

The prophet had already told us, in Ezekiel 8:4, that when he was in the vision at Jerusalem, he saw the same glory of God there that he had seen by the river Chebar. Now, in this chapter, he gives some account of that appearance, as far as needed to explain two further signs of Jerusalem’s coming ruin, which God showed him here.
1. He saw the coals of fire scattered over the city, taken from between the cherubim (Ezekiel 10:1-7).
2. He saw the glory of God leave the temple and be ready to depart (Ezekiel 10:8-22).
When God withdraws from a people, every judgment soon comes down on them.
