Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.

The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.

In this chapter, we see God’s answer to Solomon’s prayer.
1. God answered in public by sending fire from heaven, which burned up the sacrifices (2 Chronicles 7:1). This deeply moved the priests and the people (2 Chronicles 7:2, 3). That sign showed God’s approval, so they were encouraged to keep the feast with full seriousness for fourteen days. Solomon was also encouraged to keep carrying out all his plans for God’s honor (2 Chronicles 7:4-11).
2. God also answered in private, speaking to Solomon in a dream or night vision (2 Chronicles 7:12-22). Most of these events were already recorded in 1 Kings 8 and 9.
